How to Plan Your Semester With a Study Calendar

A well-maintained study calendar is one of the most powerful productivity tools for any student. Here's how to make the most of Markbit's live calendar:

Step 1: Map Out All Exam Dates

At the start of each semester, open your timetable and mark every exam, quiz, assignment deadline, and practical on the calendar. Color-coding mentally works well urgent in red, medium priority in orange, long-term in green.

Step 2: Plan Revision Windows

Work backwards from each exam date. Mark 35 revision days before each major exam. Use the note field to write what chapters you'll revise on each day.

Step 3: Track Attendance

Note down days you're unable to attend classes so you can track your running attendance percentage alongside our Attendance Calculator.

Step 4: Review Weekly

Every Sunday, check next week's notes on the calendar. Adjust your plan if you've fallen behind. Consistent weekly review is what separates good students from great ones.

Common Mistakes Students Make

  • Starting exam prep only 23 days before
  • Not tracking assignments until deadline day
  • Ignoring practicals and internal assessments
  • Underestimating revision time for tough subjects

Plan + Calculate = Win Every Exam

Use the calendar to plan, then use our calculators to verify your target scores are achievable.
